Configuration Equipment Damage Components Damage Components view Damage Component form

The Damage Component form enables you to add and edit equipment components used for describing damages for various equipment types. Use this form to manually add equipment components or use the Actions Copy Reference Set (on page 1) option to copy equipment components defined in an existing entity set. For more information on recording equipment component and damages in XPS, see Recording damages in XPS (on page 1).

To add or edit an equipment component:

  1. In the Component ID field, enter an ID that uniquely identifies the equipment component, such as door or DFA (the ISO component code for a container door).

You cannot add a component that matches an existing component for the same equipment class. But you can add the same component for a different equipment class, such as a chassis.

For more information on ISO component codes for freight containers, go to http://www.iso.ch/iso/en/CatalogueDetailPage.CatalogueDetail?CSNUMBER=20455.

  1. In the Description field, enter a short description for the equipment component.

  2. From the Equipment Class drop-down list, select the equipment class such as Container, Chassis, or Accessory for the equipment component.

Navis recommends using the Dummy equipment class only when creating an equipment type of this class in the Equipment Type form. Although, the Dummy equipment class will be visible in the Equipment Class drop-down list in equipment related forms, it must not be used.

  1. Click Save.
